I’ve spent my nearly 30-year advertising career as a copywriter, creative director and consistently smiley person. Twenty-two of those years were with WongDoody, where I was most recently VP, Group Creative Director and well-known for my impact on the culture and love of fancy salads.*
Along the way, I’ve also freelanced for brands and agencies, big and small. Some highlights include creating and leading the brand voice and retail radio for Bartell Drugs (RIP) for over decade, and Taco Time Northwest for a handful of years before that.
I’ve written or led strategic, successful creative for banks, hospitals, pizza, drugstores, airlines, film festivals, universities, zoos, salad dressing, hotels, tacos, credit unions, non-profits, cell phones, tires, museums, memorial services, winches and (shockingly, as a Seattle native) apples, coffee and tech.
I believe joy is a business advantage and I’ve brought my open, encouraging creative leadership to teams, projects and client relationships long before I held a CD title. I’m an advocate for introverted and late blooming leaders, and a mentor to young creatives and quieter voices in an industry that’s traditionally rewarded the loudest in the room. I also like to laugh (at your jokes and mine) a lot.
I recently built and launched PhenomenalMe, an app to help women silence self-doubt with a growing gallery of their proudest, most butt-kicking moments. A few things I’ve saved to my own PhenomenalMe gallery include:
Receiving the AAF Seattle Silver Medal in 2022, a Hall of Fame award for creative excellence that’s traditionally awarded to agency founders.
Shiny awards from One Show, Cannes, Communication Arts, Addys, 5x Emmys, NY Festivals, Clios, and Radio Mercury Awards.
Literal trunk loads of equestrian national championships. (Yep, I’m a horse girl.)
Notes, photos and funny drawings from my two, now mostly-grown-kids, who can still make me laugh till my cheeks cramp.
